Red Riding Hood

Our very own Indian Red Riding Hood is definitely taking all her "devotees" for a ride. The trident holding specter in red, coupled with garish makeup and accessories, aptly named Radhe Ma, shows us how blind and naive we Indians can be when it comes to believing in a higher power. Not for once do I denounce the presence of supernatural, but what disgusts me is this Godmen and Godwomen phenomena who surprisingly yet successfully manages to convince hordes of our Indian population that they are "messengers of God", incarnations of the holy spirit.

Radhe Ma, formerly known as Sukhvinder Kaur, hailing from Gurdaspur, Punjab, has righteously caught hold of our most frail nerve, Spirituality. As if her demeanor, attire, and speech do not scream loud enough "FAKE". What alludes me to the core is that how people fall into this trap of believing that such people can even be close to the supernatural.

Faith is important but blind faith as we often see gives us an entirely wrong direction. If we really want to believe God exists then the only thing we need to do is use what he has given us to make the world a slightly better place than it was yesterday. Use the brains to put logic and reasoning above chants and incantations and use a little more kindness of heart to help our fellows lead a better life.

Therefore to all my fellow Indians who are blindly following the Godmen Phenomena, ditch the satsangs, get up, and do some good work. Making someone smile will give you more happiness than sawying the head to the chants of these so-called incarnations. Get down in the dirt and help people. You might finally hear God's voice in doing so.

Stop being ignorant.

Cheers and Peace ........
